Description (Long)
Duration: 16 min Year of production: 2006. Directed & produced by: Jakša Borić Cast: Emil Matešić, Boris Miholjević, Anđa Marić Written by: Jakša Borić & Emil Matešić Director of photography: Davor Petričić Produced by: KONTRAfilm A MAN is received into a clinic with no documents. He is in a COMA and is about to be operated. But the alleged SURGERY has a bizar purpose-to take out his SPINE and replace it with a smooth steel IMPLANT! The structure of the film is based upon a certain ONEIRIC dramatization displaying the events not in a chronological manner but rather in an associative MENTAL ALGORITHM seen through the eyes of the central character. He himself is found in a kind of 'reversed' state of mind starting from the very beginning of the film. TORSIA uses the motif of the SPINE as a symbol of STRUGGLE for INDIVIDUALITY in a system where an individual is put in a position of the MANIPULATED CONSUMER of political, spiritual or ethical PRINCIPLES. This film is a story about a DEFEAT in that struggle.
