Client: CARnet Creative concept: KONTRAfilm Produced by: KONTRAfilm Description: Presentation of CARnet on the INFO fair 2002.(Zagreb Trade Fair) marking the 10th anniversary of Internet in Croatia. 10@hr is a multimedia installation which uses the basic principles of sacral architecture as a starting point for delimitation of space in an intersection with the contemporary iconography and a “net-like way of thinking”. Every sacral object has a single room that is “sanctified” and represents a connection with both the past and the future. The room in question is called Sancta Sanctorum and is accessible through a set of halls and rooms, resembling a gallery in which the paintings, sculptures, icons and other exhibits witness about various historical events and persons giving us a testimony about he past. Following this logic and bearing in mind the specific nature of the media we examine, we have chosen the sign “@” for the layout of our Internet temple. The sign “@”, like so many other signs of the 20th century (i. e. peace, anarchy) has marked our generation and at the same time, became a byword for the contemporary way of thinking and communication.
